Hey Mike, you are going to love this one. Not only does it tie Tennessee Distilling Company to Jack Daniels and Cascade, but it also announces that they have left Nashville and set up shop in Evansville. And as an added bonus, it mentions that they formerly were located opposite the Maxwell House. :)/>

This one is getting framed. ;)/>

You are right. I love it! Great find and addition to your collection. Is there a date anywhere on it?

No date. :(

But I pulled this off the Pre Pro Site:

The company apparently was forced out of TN by State Prohibition and reappears in Evansville directories in 1914 through 1917.

Nothing to add Roscoe. If you listen to the audio in the video, it explains where we are.

I will do a separate thread soon about this train depot. I have several old pictures that are interesting.

Here is another tie. It is a check from Jack Daniel, written by Lem Motlow, to the Nashville Distilling Company. I would have assumed that they would have bought full barrels from Jack Daniels and then bottled and sold it. So, why would Lem be writing them a check? :-/

I am not sure if this is the proper place to put these.  They are not all from Nashville but they do have a couple other things in common.  They are from Tennessee and they all say Lincoln County Whiskey on them.  The Cooney ad is from 1900 and the Kelly bill is from 1903.

Nice additions Jimmy.
I think they are all associated with the Jack Daniel Distillery.

Love these older items - so much history behind them

If only they knew what a "Lincoln County Whiskey" would be worth today !

I was wondering about that Mike.  Do you think they were related to Jack or do you think that it was the beginning of the Tennessee Whiskey classification?.  Basically, any whiskey that is charcoal mellowed.

I have not had much time to get it out lately, but it still seems to work now and again.     ;)

I found a nice old Nashville jug to go with the Cooney advertisement above.
