Very interesting information - thanks Mike (goodjob)/>

Here is a picture of the 2 bottles.
The 200ML on the left is a 1978 bottle.
The 1/2 pint flask bottle on the right is 1973.

Are you sure the 200ml is from 1978 Mike ? A 200ml 43% glossy seal is more likely to be 1998 ;)/>

You may be right Max. I was taking pictures and writing so fast, I may have made a mistake.

I believe Max is right Mike....1978 would be 90 proof with paper seal...

Mike,
It would seem like you have the ultimate Jack Daniel's 'catalog of information'! Wonderful!!! It is fantastic that you share all of your encounters with the rest of us...

If you have a chance can you see what the 'Coon Hunt' was all about? Did this maybe inspire the annual wooyter hunt????

and what was the difference in the 2 Smith and Wesson knives>? One of these has 'FIRST PRODUCTION RUN' ~ 1st run of what? of the new bottling system?
~Thanks again!!!

I think every new collector needs to take the time & read this complete thread.
LOTS of information here!
It refreshed my memory of things I had forgotten.
