Very nice Mike. I really like the statue. What is it made of?

Jimmy

Don't know because I have never had one. All I know is that it is heavy.

I believe Andreas had one on his web site somewhere, or something like that one.

I have a heavy one too, but it seems almost solid plaster. Yours is really cool. It looks almost looks metallic.

There were about 3 or four bottles in the crate - 1 was the Statue bottle - 1 was the amber display bottle I think - also 2 jugs, an oil lamp - picture set - lot of other stuff.. I have seen a price list for the items - suggests you could buy certain pieces maybe???

~ I think the most expensive item was the centennial bottle - listed at $5,56 other something like that...

Nice addition- I was trying to get that bottle....

mate, if I added these items to my collection, I forget how to speak! Very nice and as always, your words are just as good as the additions.

You are exactly right about the Statue Bottle. It was also in the crate. It and the Centennial were never filled. We found out these were made in the early to mid 60's, not the 50's.

i believe this set was similar to the Maxwell House display window-- as for the statue -- there was a small pack of fake smokes that go in the little hole in the mouth-- they actually lit up and smoked

For the record, this is one of the JD Crates that were sent to the liquor stores to display the Centennial, Statue, Jugs and other JD Items

Thanks Guys! As it turns out I got speaking to the seller on eBay and the fella he bought it off had a second one. He was going through his mums house after she recently passed away and found them. From the pics the embossing is a lot sharper on the second one so now I have the pair on the way. Might go and buy a lotto ticket I think lol. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429529547.418451.jpg
