Auction had a buy it now of $1200 at one point and then relisted. It's funny that the top is so worn out and the bottom part is so perfect.

Well I offered close to $2000 and the guy was hesitant for some reason?

there is a tax ,,,i think this date is 1906 ,,,as you can see in the pic ,,,bottles had to have this on the side and its June 10th so if the date was 1906 for this tax then the bottle had to be made prior to June 10 1906 ???????

if someone can confirm the tax date then wouldn't this bottle have to have the tax guarantee on the side as in this Picc?

You guys can beat this bottle up all day if you want to, but someone got a rare, one of a kind bottle.
I wish it was mine, but it isn't, so I'll congratulate the new owner.
This bottle is the real deal. There is no doubt in my mind.

sorry for my english....

difficult to say whether this label is true or false ...

I think it,
have the bottle in his hands, for observe

we do not have enough perspective, or support ( documents) that has been done at this time by the Distillery ...

Before,I have been collecting for several years military objects of the Second World War, and this is why I stopped this collection, too many copies, even great experts were mistaken ....

I made models reduced as some have seen, it is very easy to take an object and make it older old, there are several methods

this is why I did not bid because when I have a doubt, I always have doubts about the item purchased ....

it should  be observed, labels
because some people,  manufactures false to make lots of money .....

because at this price, we have no right to be wrong ...

I found a few labels with several difference....

I cannot say why I know this bottle is the real deal. As silly as it seems, it is just one of those things you know. I talked to a local collector who has been collecting as long as I have and he also believes it is authentic. I have always said you cannot be 100% sure until you can hold it in your hands and examine it. I have not seen this bottle or held it. As Laurent said, skilled people can make some beautiful, authentic looking, fake items. My gut feeling is this bottle is not one of them.

Ever so often, sometimes years, someone will find an authentic Jack Daniel item that nobody has ever seen. Everyone will question whether it is real or a fake. I believe this is one of these items. I believe there are still many items here in Lynchburg and the Moore County area that have not been found or even seen. Hopefully, more will be found and displayed in the near future.

If I am wrong, I will admit it, but someone will have to prove it to me. I still think it is the real deal.

Does anyone else think the label should continue around the sides of the bottle?

this wasn't uncommon in the very early bottles for the label not to wrap all the way around the side.

Always learning, thanks Max!

What about the fact that the bottle looks turned? Surely labels cant survive that kind of process?

It is a very clean bottle but there is some residue in the bottom, most of the really dirty bottles you see are those dug from the ground whereas this on obviously hasn't been,
