Latest ad I found in a magazine on the new Single Barrel Rye coming out soon.

I couldn't catch everything on the scan I did below, but at the top of the page it said:

12-0560

Barrel No

R -18

Rick No

08-01-2015

Bottling Date:

Just guessing: One Type of Bottle where you can put on a different Label is way cheaper.

Not only the cost, but they are really trying to market this as a range of Single Barrel variations so all the same SB family

So far we have

Single Barrel Select
Single Barrel Ducks Unlimited
Single Barrel Barrel Proof

And soon will have ....
Single Barrel 100 Proof travellers exclusive
Single Barrel Rye

All with the same bottle, similar look etc, I personally think they are all too similar and the average consumer will make mistakes when grabbing one from the liquor store shelf but I'm quite sure Brown Forman know what they are doing.

So this Rye bottle is then the third and last to join the rested and aged rye?

This is a Single Barrel Rye, I'm still hoping they will do a batch of regular "aged rye" to go along with the Unaged and rested rye, and if they do this one I would like to see it in the same style bottle as the first two. I think there is a good chance they will.

The first two Rye released - unaged and rested were basically many barrels mixed together to get the right taste then bottled in a batch like they do with Black Label. This is still a Rye Whiskey not a Tennessee Whiskey but each barrel individually bottled and therefore will all have different characteristics the same way that Single Barrel differs to Black Label.

Hope I explained that in a way you understand.

Just had word from the Distillery that sadly there won't be a regular aged Rye as i'd hoped, they are only doing the Rye as a Single Barrel - that's like saying they're not going to sell Black Label, only Single Barrel Select but I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Single Barrel Rye isn't expected to be released until around April or May of 2016
