Whyscoteca Edward Giaccone bottle
Posted 19 June 2017 - 10:50 AM
I got it cheap in an auction listed as just a 1978 black label 90 proof 700ml
but didn't really look at the back and got put in storage, I only got it out because i was thinking of selling it and realised it was quite rare.
The labels and seals are not in great condition but ok,
Can anyone Advise how much its worth?

One of these probably is still on eBay for 700€ and a few weeks ago another one was sold on auction for a little bit over 400€ if my memory serves

Better make sure to keep it with the collection. It's a special one

the bottle is hard get, but your value seems a bit high to me.
The last one I had seen selling on a Whiskey auction in Februar. Price was 290 EUR.
here is a selling history about this bottle

My opinion is that the average price for this bottle will go up very fast even faster as it did the last two years. When you check the chart Werner posted you see that there was an auction for this bottle almost every month in 2014! that stoped!
As much as I know the sons from Eduardo sold all of the amazing collection their father had (the biggest Whisky collection in the world!). Looks like this special labeled bottle from Eduardos privat stock is sold now and the collectors who have it on their shelf will not part with it very easy.
Not too many know about the Whisky auction so the 290€ is not the max you would get when you offer it at Ebay or FB ....
Just my two cents.....
