Just my opinion here...
When a company releases a new bottle on a weekly/monthly basis quality starts lacking! These dumb little oversights are making these releases less attractive. Same with that Korean or Chinese Red Dog box set with the word "opend" spelled wrong. They are flooding the market with too many variants.
But....we collectors keep buying it. We don't want to be that collector that doesn't have this or that. So why would B-F stop creating new bottles?
Personally I liked it better when we had the "big 7" decanters or the 1895 replica, 125th, etc...
I liked the Scenes, the GM line. They were very nicely done,
Yes, they were more money but "goods worth price charged".
I understand they are trying to satisfy new collectors and really, if you're new to the game it's pretty difficult to find or buy older things. They are expensive and you have to know other collectors.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the new GJ timepiece a lot, one of the finer things they've come out with in the last few years. But that design flaw bugs me! Sure it's not a $100 decanter but I expect more from my favourite brand. I fell in love with Jack first and foremost with the "Quality" of the brand.
Rant over.

B F marketing doesn't give a damn about collectors-- they say we account for LESS than one percent of total sales-- it is just stupid mistakes  the label and cap makers do and missed by quality control--- j m o

Just looked at mine, has the same gap. Looks to me its where the label overlaps its self. Should have had the seam toward the back so its less noticeable when displayed.
