It will be sad not to see you both. The chocolate shakes in the square are even better then before. I will personally make sure that Joachim and Werner get back to Germany safely.  Who could take Joachim for a whole year? Werner would be ok.

We would really love to come to the BBQ and meet up with friends, just as we have so many times before. Unfortunately, to put it mildly, the current political situation in the US is not to our liking. I have been extremely critical of the politics there on Facebook since last year, and I fear that I might be detained or immediately sent back upon arrival. As long as the US has a president who insults us Europeans by calling us freeloaders and parasites, I certainly won't be getting on a plane.

Many thanks to everyone who remembered my birthday and sent good wishes. Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it to the BBQ this year either. Sadly, the political situation in the USA makes it impossible for us to enjoy a relaxed trip. I don't want to say anything more about it here; many of you already know my opinion.
